Hello Parents & Coaches:
Saturday May 2ND is opening day. Just a few reminders:

Hello All,.  Opening day is just around the corner... how exciting, but maybe a little nerve-racking for us first timers... This email will help both newbies and opening day pro's

Important Reminder: NO DOGS or pets are allowed at the park (this is a strict park rule). Service animals are welcome, but please leave all other pets at home and remind any guests. We appreciate your help in enforcing this!

Like it has been the last 10 or so years, the parade starts at St. Clair High School. This year, teams will be gathered in the sports entrance parking lot off Cox Road. You can drop your kids off in the northern part of that parking lot between 8 am-8:30 am. Please try to keep to the north closet to the baseball fields for drop off and please do not park in that lot. See the map for more details. You can also park by the tennis courts off Clinton and walk up to the lineup area. Once your child finds their team, you can head off to watch the parade if you aren't also walking. If you are the 1st member of your team there, just look for others to show up and group together.  Coaches make it a point to be looking for your little ones. No child will ever be left behind, and everyone always finds their team. Police Chief Don Ennis, our safety officer, will be on-site on Saturday and will ensure everything runs smoothly.

Parade participants:  The parade will stage/begin in the high school parking lot off Cox Rd, and will travel westbound down Clinton Ave. Once they reach the Knights of Columbus at 3501 Rattle Run, they will walk south through the parking lot towards the Little League Field.
At 8:55 a.m., SCPD and SCCSD will close east and westbound lanes of Clinton Ave/Rattle Run to prepare for parade traffic. The St. Clair Fire Department and St. Clair Police Department will lead the parade at 9:00.AM.  Once all parade participants have exited Rattle Run Rd, SCPD and SCCSD reopen the roadway. Opening-day ceremonies will take place on Field 4 once all participants have arrived at the field.

Basic INFO:
****PLEASE NO DOGS !! ALSO, PLEASE REMIND ANY OF YOUR GUESTS COMING IN THAT MIGHT NOT KNOW THE RULES, PLEASE LEAVE YOUR PETS AT HOME. This is a park rule. Please do your part and follow the rules. We hate to do it, but you will be asked to remove your dog if we see one. Seeing-eye dogs or guide dogs are obviously allowed.****
* Things are going to seem a little hectic when you show up, there are almost 500 kids in the league, so there are a lot of moving parts. There is no need to stress; you will be lined up and told where to walk and who to walk behind. Find your coach or teammates and stay grouped together.  *Tball Parents, you are 100% welcome to walk with the kids if you see fit. All other parents (unless necessary) please enjoy the parade by joining in with the crowd down Clinton/ Rattle Run.
Clinton will be open until the start of the parade. So, a great place to park is the High School Parking lot by the Tennis Courts.
*Please drop your kids off between 8 am-8:30 am. We will be lining up towards Cox Road. Once your child finds their team, you can head off to watch the parade if you aren't also walking. We will line up starting with the Youngest Division to the Oldest Division
*Parents, I would have your kids wear tennis shoes for comfort; they can put their cleats on before their games.
*IF you do not have picture forms, coaches, they are in the Field House. Please pass them out this week. Marion will have them on hand to fill out, also. Please be patient during the picture process; there can sometimes be delays.
 * IF YOU PARK AT THE KofC YOU MUST REMOVE YOUR CARS RIGHT AFTER THE PARADE ENDS. THEY ARE NICE ENOUGH TO LET US USE THEIR PROPERTY, BUT THEY DO HAVE AN EVENT LATER IN THE DAY, AND CARS WILL BE TOWED.

I will try and keep my "speech" as quick as possible, but it's important to recognize all the people who help make this SCLL possible.  Again, please no dogs or pets

Thank you to Sgt Don Ennis for putting this all together!!

Here's to NO RAIN!!
