I Signed Up for Tee-Ball… Now What??

Hi everyone!
Welcome to the 2026 SCLL Tee-Ball Season!   I know this is long but please read lol

We’re so excited to have over 125 kids signed up this year (and still counting) – it's going to be a great season! For many of you, this might be your first time experiencing St. Clair Little League, and you might be wondering what happens next.

You may have signed up a few months ago and wondered, “Wait a second… did they take my money and ghost me?”
We promise we didn’t disappear! There’s just a lot happening behind the scenes to get everything organized and ready for a great season. Thanks for your patience — we’re working hard to make it worth the wait!

Team Rosters and Practice Schedules will be sent out (via email) the week of March 17th . This will have your coach and everyone's email and phone numbers on the team listed. Please make sure your email addresses and phone numbers are updated on your account so you get the team emails and coaches can reach you.
Coaches get those group texts going asap after rosters are released.

You can always find your team information on our website. Once they are posted under TEAM CENTER > TEAM DIRECTORY.

Teams and gear: At SCLL, we use a combo of Sponsorship and Minor League Baseball Team names. Example Jets Pizza Iron Pigs. Jets is the sponsor, and the Iron Pigs is a minor league team. If you want extra gear, which some of the teams have, pretty cool stuff, you will have to Google your minor league team name, and their store should pop up. We do not carry an inventory of extra hats or shirts. The kids uniforms will be 100% Cotton Nike MiLB Replicas with sponsors on the back, example below:

What Are Tee-Ball Practices and Games Like?

Fields: Practices and games will take place on Fields 5, 6, and 8View Map Here

Practice:
Starting the week after Easter 04/06/2026
Times: 5:00 PM 5:45 PM, or 6:30PM.  << click here to see an example of what days you will practice >>

Coaches always appreciate parent volunteers! If you're helping out with kids other than your own, a background check is required. PLEASE LOG BACK INTO THE WEBSITE, CLICK VOLUNTEER IN YOUR PROFILE, AND SIGN UP AS A TEAM HELPER. This is the only way we send background checks this year.

Practices are relaxed and focus on basic skills:

  • Running bases (yes, we love to tire them out before bedtime!)

  • Simple throwing and fielding drills

  • Live hitting for fun

Practices last around 45 minutes to 1 hour. Some practices will have two teams sharing a field – no worries, there’s plenty of room, and this helps avoid 7 PM practices.

Games:

GAME SCHEDULE WILL BE RELEASED EARLY ARPIL.

<<< Click here for an example of game schedule>>

Times
: 5:15 PM or 6:15 PM T-BALL 1 IS ON TUES/THUR AND TBALL 2 IS MON/WED

Games are about fun and development, not competition.
We do not keep score. Here’s what to expect:

  • Short warm-up and drills before each game

  • Each team bats through the lineup

  • Kids advance one base per hit

  • Last batter runs all the bases to clear them (crowd favorite!)

  • Each team bats 2–3 times, depending on attention spans and time.

What Equipment Do You Need?

Must-Have:

  • Glove – required (around $20–$30, available at Amazon, Target, Meijer, Walmart, etc.)

Recommended:

  • Bat & Helmet – League provides extras, but personal ones are great if you can

  • Cleats – Nice to have, but not essential. Tennis shoes work fine. Soccer cleats are also acceptable.

Avoid overspending – no need for a $70 bat! League bats and helmets will be available at each field.

Opening Day – May 2nd 🎉

Opening Day is a BIG DEAL in St. Clair!
We kick it off with a parade from the high school to the fields (via the KofC).
Invite everyone – grandparents, aunts, uncles, neighbors!
Parents can walk with their kids during the parade (especially T-ballers). Grandparents are encouraged to line the route by the high school.

📸 Game/photo schedule will be posted soon! YOU CAN FIND AN EXAMPLE OF OPEN DAYS SCHEDULE HERE

Who to Contact & Weather Info

Team-related Questions or Missed Practices?
Contact your coach directly – their info is in your team placement email.
📲 Coaches – please start a group text for easy team communication.
If you don’t have your coach’s contact info, get it on the first day of practice.

Weather Policy:

  • Practice days: Coach decides if practice is on (unless fields are unplayable). We do this because sometimes it's too cold for the younger kids, but the older kids will be fine. I know this puts a lot on the coaches, but just make the best call you can. We don't want to say you cant pracice cause we might think it's a little cold.

  • Game days: League decision – we notify division heads, then coaches, then parents.

Just because rain is in the forecast doesn't mean games are canceled. If it’s not raining at 4 PM, we plan to play! Our goal is to always play. The "what are you thinking about playing today" text arent as helpful as you might think lol. Believe me, we are always thinking about the weather during game days.
